Onion1/2 mediumminced
Brown sugar2 tsp
Cilantrofew leavesminced
Green chilis2-3 mediumminced
Atukulu - Flattened Rice1.5 cupsoaked in hot water for 30 minutes
Saltto taste
Indian seasoning


Method:
  1. Fry onion and green chilies with seasoning
  2. Add the rice along with sugar, salt and tamarind paste
  3. Mix well and garnish with cilantro


Notes:
You can replace tamarind with lemon juice for a different take on this dish. For the lemon version, onions are optional.
