Ghee Garlic rasam

Toor dal - Kandipappu1/3 cupcooked for 3 whistles
Pepper10-12 corns
Cumin1 tsp
Garlic1 large clove
Indian seasoningcurry leavesmustard with ghee
Tamarindto tastevery little
Brown sugarto tastevery little
Lemon juiceto tastevery little
Rasam powderto taste


Method:
  1. Crush garlic, pepper & cumin with mortar and pestle
  2. Add to ghee, mustard seeds and curry leaves
  3. Mix salt, brown sugar, tamarind, cooked dal and water
  4. Bring to boil and turn off heat
  5. Add little sugar and lemon juice before serving
