Quinoa Lentil Burger

Serves: 6-8 patties 
Calories: 420/burger
Quinoa1/2 cup
Lentils3/4 cup
Onion1 largechopped
Garlic3 large clovesminced
Green chili1 - 2 mediumminced
Celery1 -2 stalkschopped finely
Carrot2 mediumchopped finely
Thyme1/2 tsp
Oregano1/2 tsp
Tarragon1/2 tsp
Cayenne pepper1/2 tsp or more
Garlic powder1/2 tsp
Flaxmeal2 tbsp
Soy sauce1 tsp
Ketchup1 tbsp
Nutritional yeast2 tsp
Fennel seeds1/4 tspcrushed
Breadcrumbs1/2 - 3/4 cup
For glaze:
Soy sauce1 tsp
Honey1 tbsp
Ketchup3 tbsp or more
Sriracha2 tsp
Garlic powder1/2 tsp

  1. Cook lentils and quinoa and let cool
  2. Fry onion, garlic and green chili for few minutes
  3. Add carrots, celery, thyme, oregano, tarragon and salt, cook for few minutes
  4. Turn off flame and add cooked quinoa, lentils and flaxmeal, mash well
  5. Add sauces, nutritional yeast, fennel seeds and breadcrumbs
  6. Shape into burger patties and microwave for 1 minute or so
  7. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown
  8. Serve with glaze,sriracha mayo and choice of vegetables
