| Rava | 1.5 cups | |
| Water | 4.5 cups | |
| Onion | 1 | chopped |
| Tomato | 1/2 can | diced |
| Potato | 1 | chopped |
| Ginger | small piece | minced |
| Lemon juice | to taste | |
| Green chilis | 2-3 tsp | minced |
| Veggies | 1 cup | frozen |
| Seasoning | with | turmeric |
Method:
- Microwave the potato and boil the water in a separate dish
- Fry the onion with turmeric, ginger, and green chilis
- Add tomato to deglaze the pan
- Add the thawed veggies and cook until they are done
- Adjust salt and pepper to taste, then add boiling/hot water
- Once the water comes to a boil again, add the cooked potato
- Keep stirring while adding rava and do not allow upma to stick to the pan
- Garnish with lemon juice and chopped cilantro
