| Rice | 1.5 cup | washed |
| Cabbage | 2-3 cups or 1/2 head | shred |
| Cilantro | 1 cup | chopped finely |
| Curry leaves | few | |
| Turmeric | pinch | |
| Water | 2 cups | |
| Garam masala | to taste | |
| For Paste: | ||
| Coconut | half cup | |
| Green chilis | 5 | |
| Cumin | 2 tbsp | coriander seeds also |
| Cinnamon | 1 small piece | |
| Clove | 2 | |
| Ginger Garlic paste | 1 tsp | blend to paste |
Method:
- Fry the paste for 5 minutes in oil, then add turmeric, curry leaves & garam masala
- Add the cabbage & cilantro, mix well
- Add the hot water & rice, some salt to taste and cook for 3 whistles
- Serve with cold Raita
