Wateras needed
Tamarind juice3 tbsp
Brown sugarto taste
Cilantrofor garnishminced
Curry leaves
Indian seasoning
For Paste:
Red chilis4-5
Coriander seeds2-3 tbsp
Coconut3/4 cup


Method:
  1. Fry curry leaves, green chilis, onion & tomato with seasoning
  2. Cook with lid closed for few minutes
  3. Add coconut paste, water, salt, tamarind juice & brown sugar, cook for 10 minutes
  4. Add dal, more water and spices if needed
  5. Bring to boil and turn off heat
