Chole Masala

Chickpeas1 cupdry
Tomato3 mediumchopped
Onion2 largechopped
Tomato paste3 oz
Ginger garlic paste1.5 tsp
Red chili powderto taste
Turmerica pinch
Chole masala2 tsp
Garam masala1/4 tsp
Saltto taste
Oil1 tbsp
Cilantrofew leaveschopped
Wateras needed

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight and pressure cook for 3 whistles with salt
  2. Fry onion until browned, then add add tomatoes
  3. After tomatoes break down, add ginger garlic and tomato paste
  4. Fry until well cooked
  5. Add salt and all spices and cook for another 5-10 minutes
  6. Add water and drained chickpeas to pan and simmer on medium heat
  7. When desired consistency is reached, mash a few chickpeas in the pan
  8. Adjust seasoning to taste and garnish with cilantro leaves
