| Milk | 1.33 cups | |
| Water | 1.33 cups | |
| Vermicelli | 1 cup | roasted |
| Sugar | 1/2 cup | |
| Cashews | few | |
| Raisins | few | |
| Ghee | 2 tsp | |
| Cardamom powder | pinch | |
Method:
- Cook vermicelli in milk and water on lowest heat, stirring constantly
- Add sugar when vermicelli is half cooked
- Fry cashews and raisins in ghee separately
- When payasam is fully cooked, add the cashews, raisins and cardamom powder
- Add some milk to get desired consistency
