| Red Gram Dal - Kandipappu | 1/3 cup | cooked for 3 whistles |
| Garlic | 2-3 cloves | minced |
| Red chili powder | to taste | |
| Salt | to taste | |
| Tamarind paste | to taste | very little |
| Tomato | 2 medium | chopped |
| Indian seasoning | with curry leaves | |
| Water | as needed | |
| Rasam powder | to taste | |
| Cilantro | few stalks for garnish | chopped |
Method:
- Fry curry leaves in seasoning along with garlic and tomato
- Add other ingredients and bring to boil
- Garnish with cilantro
