Potato2 largechopped, cooked
Kala channa1 cupsoak overnight
Onion1 largechopped
Garlic2 large cloveschopped
Sambar powder2 tbsp
Cilantrofew stalks
Tamarind2 tsp
Coconut3/4 cup

  1. Cook the channa for 3 whistles in the pressure cooker
  2. Fry onion and garlic for few minutes and allow to cool
  3. Grind onion, garlic, 1/2 cup cooked channa, sambar powder, cilantro, tamarind and coconut to a smooth paste
  4. Add the mixture, potatoes, salt, and channa to Indian seasoning
  5. Cook for some time, adjust spices to taste and garnish with cilantro
