Chala Chakralu

Makes: 1 medium box 
Rice flour2 cups
Podumu1/2 cup
Yogurt1/2 - 3/4 cups
Oil2 tbsphot
Saltto taste
Red chili powder4 tsp

  1. Mix dry ingredients first
  2. Heat oil in shallow pan on medium 
  3. Add hot oil and crush any balls into powder
  4. Add yogurt to a small portion of flour and knead into medium ball
  5. Stuff dough inside and press into oil
  6. Flip once and remove when it reaches dark orange color

Don't mix everything at once, dough will dry out. Make only 1 ball at a time. Taste the dough, it should be really salty/spicy/tangy for murukku to come out well. Add citric acid if yogurt isn't sufficient.
