| For the bhaji: | ||
| Onion | 4 large | chopped |
| Tomato | 4 large | chopped |
| Potato | 4 large | chopped |
| Green pepper | 2 medium | chopped |
| Cauliflower | 1/2 head | chopped |
| Green peas | 1 cup | |
| Pav bhaji masala | to taste | |
| Red chili powder | to taste | |
| Salt | to taste | |
| Coriander powder | to taste | |
| Cumin powder | to taste | |
| Tomato paste | 1 can | 14/12 oz |
| Lemon juice | for garnish | |
| Red onion | for garnish | chopped |
Method:
- Cook potato, cauliflower and green peas for 1 whistle, allow to cool and then mash
- Fry onion and tomato on high heat for 10 to 15 minutes
- Add the mashed vegetables and spices
- Cook until done, turn off flame and add lemon juice
- Slice each dinner roll laterally and sprinkle pav bhaji masala on the inside surface
- Toast them on stove or grill for 2 to 3 minutes
- Serve hot pav bhaji with cilantro, chopped onion and lemon juice on the side
