Beeyamsa Thalimpu

Rice4/3 cupsdry roasted
Potato2 mediumdiced
Onion1 largechopped
Green chilis3 mediumsliced
Indian seasoningturmeric, curry leaves
Water3.25 cups
Tamarind paste8 tbsp
Brown sugar4 tsp
Saltto taste
Ginger garlic paste1 tsp
Cilantrofew leaveschopped

  1. Roast the rice till it turns color from translucent to white
  2. To seasoning add chilis, curry leaves, potato, ginger garlic paste, water, rice and mix well
  3. Add the tamarind, brown sugar, salt and cook for 1 whistle (or longer if the rice is not cooked by then)
  4. Microwave the onion on high for 2 minutes (with little salt) and add to the rice with cilantro leaves
