| Rice | 1/2 cup | |
| Urad dal | 1/4 cup | |
| Moong dal | 1/4 cup | yellow |
| Toor dal | 1/4 cup | |
| Chana dal | 1/4 cup | |
| Red chilis | 4 - 5 | |
| Salt | to taste | |
| Drumstick leaves | 1/2 cup | |
| Fennel seeds | 2 tsp |
Method:
- Soak all dals and rice overnight in plenty of water
- In the morning, grind them coarsely with only as much water as needed
- Adjust salt to taste and add fennel seeds plus flax seeds if using
- Pour ada and sprinkle drumstick leaves, extra fennel seeds and press into batter
- Flip and cook for a couple of minutes before serving
